Please join us via Zoom on Wednesday, May 25 from 2-3 PM for a free, lively panel discussion on Fair Housing as seen through an equity lens. 

Our 3 panelists will talk about bias and how it pertains to fair housing, protected classes and best practices, so attendees can learn how to adhere to the state and federal laws surrounding Fair Housing. 

Panelists and topics: 

Amy Buchas Lavoie, RE/MAX Right Choice Real Estate. Berlin, CT - Fair housing specialist, advocate and educator. 

Amy brought the CEU course “Understanding and Preventing Racial Bias in Real Estate” to the MAR convention.

  • Maine protected classes 
  • How the protected classes relate to the 5 "isms" (classism, racism, sexism, ableism and ageism) 
  • (If any) Familiar lawsuits, fair housing violations or repercussions from fair housing violations

Oronde Cruger, Program Director for Speak About it. Speak About It is a consent education and sexual assault prevention non-profit. Speak About It uses theater and dialogue to empower students to give and get consent, build healthy relationships, and make change in their communities.
