Lunch & Learn: From Curb Appeal to Comfort Appeal

Lunch & Learn: From Curb Appeal to Comfort Appeal

Thursday, June 9, 2022 (12:00 PM - 1:00 PM) (EDT)

Description

Join GPBR's Sustainability Advisory Group on Thursday, June 9 from Noon to 1 PM via zoom for a Passive House Lunch and Learn, subtitled From Curb Appeal to Comfort Appeal

You have heard of Passive House, but what is it exactly and why are you hearing more about it lately?

It’s not something you can see driving by, you have to experience it to understand the dramatic difference living in a Passive House represents. Passive House construction is one of the highest building energy certifications and is earned by buildings that require barely any heating and cooling to maintain their indoor temperature (thus the term Passive House) while at the same time affording the occupants a comfortable, clean, and quiet living environment that is quite remarkable.

passivhausMAINE Executive Director, Naomi Beal, will lead us through who is building to the standard in the Greater Portland area, why it matters to invest in the building rather than pay high energy bills, and their retrofitMAINE project to create a blueprint for cutting the carbon in Maine’s older building stock.

You don’t want to miss the opportunity to get an expert introduction to this important way of building in your toolbox, so register today!
